Nnedi Okorafor, a Nigerian-American award-winning novelist, will write Marvel’s new comic book series about Black Panther’s sister, Shuri – the scientific genius and princess of the mythical nation of Wakanda.

Nnedi is known for weaving African culture into creative, evocative settings and memorable characters, including young adult fiction​, ​short stories and adult fiction.

Her previous works​ include The Binti Trilogy and ​​Who Fears Death which is on its way to becoming an HBO series​ with Game of Thrones executive producer, George R.R Martin
