AWB is concerned with women’s economic participation, from workplace regulations and policies to how they interact with the government. Our aim is to strengthen the democratic process and drive efforts of gender inclusion and equity using the artilleries of dialogue and storytelling activism.

The PPW series explores women’s participation in politics and policy-making, as well as women’s interactions with governance. 

Wealth, Finance & Power Masterclass

On Thursday, January 10, African Women on Board held its first event of 2019, a masterclass on wealth, finance & power.

Nigerian Elections in Retrospect

As part of our mission to advance women in leadership positions and elevate women’s narratives, African Women on Board (AWB) held a Fireside Chat themed “Nigerian Elections in Retrospect: Lessons for Inclusivity in 2023″.

The event, which held on Tuesday, April 15th aimed to facilitate discussion about the recent elections and women’s participation in Nigerian politics.

A huge thank you to our speakers: Prof. Remi Sonaiya, Chief Mrs. Adeyemi Abiola, Mrs. Arinola Oloko, Mrs. Lara Adesanya, Ms. Kadaria Ahmed, and Princess Adebisi Ogunsanya for candidly sharing their insights and experiences; to our Moderator, Ms. Esther Awoniyi, for keeping the discussions interactive and engaging; and to Ford Foundation for their tremendous support! AWB will continue to work towards enabling these conversations and any possible resolutions that arise from them.
