AWB is curating images of everyday African women doing everyday things in their communities. We want to showcase and celebrate our mothers, sisters, daughters, and granddaughters as they go about doing the things that make them remarkable.
Be part of our community of storytellers and join us to tell the stories of remarkable African women. Send your images to africanwomenonboard@awb.org.
RAHWA GEBRETNSAIE
Born in Connecticut and raised in California, Rahwa founded Y.E.S. (Young Eritrean Students) as a teenager with her best friend in response to the deportation of thousands of Eritrean civilians from Ethiopia during the 1998-2000 war.
She is an AWB Advisor and shares her images of the everyday lives of regular East African women and girls.
