Chioma Omeruah best known as Chigul is a Nigerian comedian, singer and actress who is known for her accents and comedic characters.
We were at Chigul’s one-woman comedy show last Friday, a fantastic experience – 10/10 would recommend. With her special brand of comedy and music, she spoke on her experiences with failure, rejection, relationships, career goals, mental wellbeing and her journey to self-acceptance.
We especially loved her boldness in touching on the ‘taboo’ subject of female sexual expression and the conversations it raises on the agency of the African woman’s body. Chigul is advancing her narrative of what a strong and empowered African woman looks like, and we’re here for it!
